This is the place where the actual side notes go and where this blog breaks away from the representations of destinations that make up its body. In posts tagged as side notes, I will tell the stories that actually make up what travel is all about. Some odd occurrences, little things of note, episodes that make you smile or pause.
Stories are the essence of travel, they are reason and objective. Many years down the road, your mind can’t conjure up the sensation of staring into Grand Canyon anymore, but it will vividly remember a conversation you had at a gas station in the middle of nowhere.
The world is a book and those who do not travel read only the first page
Here are my travel stories, observations, considerations and side notes:
- The knife-wielding man in St. Croix taught me a lesson
- They never smile in Eastern Europe
- Streets, roads and highways: In love with road trips
